Muhammad Ubaid Imtiaz is a Doctoral Candidate, DC10, for MSCA NEPIT at the Department of Electrical Engineering from the Eindhoven University of Technology, Netherlands. He will carry out research on “Effectiveness of Shielding Covers in Reverberant Environments” under the supervision of Dr. Ramiro Serra. He is working towards developing models, simulating and evaluating the effect of shielding covers and the discontinuities with a focus on actual situations where parameters like corrosion, stiffness, and reliability are dominant factors. He will also work on development of the Dual RC technique for validation of measurements and have this embedded in world-wide standards for evaluation of shielding covers and compartments. Expected results from his work include development of a novel model and test methods for complex shielding covers, which can be used by design engineers in various industries.
He obtained his bachelor’s degree in Pakistan from the University of Engineering and Technology, Lahore in 2014. He also obtained a master’s degree in Systems Engineering from the Pakistan Institute of Engineering and Applied Sciences in 2016. He has extensive experience working at a public sector R&D organization in Pakistan on design, development and production of EMI/EMP filters, Shielded Enclosures and RFI Doors. Alongside that he was also involved in EMC pre-compliance testing and Shielding Effectiveness testing according to relevant standards. After that, he worked as an Electronics Engineer for Rolls Royce Control Systems (Solihull, UK), an aerospace company, as an Alten Ltd (UK) contractor. He is passionate about research and development in the field of Electromagnetic Compatibility and Reverberation Chambers and aspires to make significant contributions to this field.
