Jawad Ali is Doctoral Candidate, 06, for MSCA NEPIT at the Department of Ingeneria Dell’Infomazione from the Università Politecnica delle Marche, Ancona, Italy. He will carry out research on Effects of Losses on the Field Distribution and Propagation in Complex Semi-Enclosed Environments. The objective is modelling, simulations and validation via measurements of the field distribution in presence of losses, where losses are apertures, absorbing objects and/or people. The effect of losses will be investigated using insertion methods in FDTD codes running on HPC. The effects on the propagation of complex signals resulting in Power Delay Profile, Time Delay Spread, and Rician K-factor will be investigated. The task is looking at RC and anechoic chamber (simulating free space), and finding the necessary absorption in order to create characteristics as found in actual semi-enclosed environments. The expected outcome is the development of advanced numerical tools based on FDTD simulations running on HPC platforms for analysing and comparing radiated immunity tests, together with validated models describing electromagnetic field distribution and signal propagation in complex semi-enclosed environments with different loss mechanisms.
He obtained his bachelor’s degree in Physics from the University of Peshawar in 2017 and a master’s degree in Physics in 2021 from Hazara University Mansehra in Pakistan, during which he spent one year as a researcher at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering, Ghulam Ishaq Khan Institute of Engineering Sciences and Technology (GIKI). In 2022, he served as an instructor at a public institute, teaching Electromagnetism. In 2023, he joined the Communication and Wave Propagation Laboratory (CWPL) at Chosun University, South Korea, as a Research Assistant, working on satellite communication reflectors and 5G communication systems funded by National Research Foundation (NRF) and Brain Korea-21.
