Committees

Management Team

The Project Manager (PM) shall be an employee of the UT (as appointed by the UT) and assists the Coordinator and consortium in managerial tasks, such as organisational, administrative, communication, legal, accounting and financial matters.

The Management Team (MT) executes the overall project management and follow up. The MT consists of the Coordinator, who is the chair of this team, the PM and all Work Package leaders, which are actually all beneficiaries (every beneficiary leads one work package). The continuous monitoring and communication will also be assured through bi-monthly teleconference progress meetings. The MT shall provide a report at each meeting outlining the activities and/or issues of each WP and its associated committees.

The Gender Balance Coordinator (GBC) will have responsibility for mainstreaming gender balance. The GBC will report to the Supervisory Board on the proportion of women participating in conferences, training events and on the efforts to increase their participation.

Training/doctoral studies committee

This committee is supporting the WP2 (Training) leader in preparing and adapting the training program and making sure that the program fits to the doctoral school regulations. It consists of the representatives of the doctoral schools.

Dissemination committee

This committee is supporting the WP3 leader, on the strategy for selecting the best conferences and journals, making sure that the publications are Open Access, provide feedback for WP2 (additional training). Members of this committee are from the universities with long experiences in scientific publications.

IP and exploitation committee

This committee is supporting the WP3 leader for IP and exploration activities. The members specialists from the associated partners. The participation are experienced IP specialists, as well as persons involved in the exploration of results from the associated partners. The committee will assist the DCs in pushing towards exploitation and implementation of their work.

Public engagement committee

The public engagement committee will support WP4 (Outreach) in the activities to make the public aware of the needs for research. A large spectrum of public engagement activities will take place within the NEPIT project. Also, a social media strategy to communicate with youngsters is implemented. The NEPIT DCs shall ensurewill be encouraged to make that their research activities are made known to society at large in such a way that they can be understood by non-specialists, thereby improving the public’s understanding of science.  Direct engagement with the public, and especially youngsters, will help researchers to better understand public interest in priorities for science and technology and also the public’s concerns. Members of this committee are the DCC representative, and a selection of experienced specialists from the participants.

Research coordination committee

The research coordination committee is formed by the supervisors and the WP5, WP6 and WP7 leaders. This committee shall assure the coherence of the research, reduce overlap and stimulate collaboration.

Doctoral candidate committee

The Doctoral Candidate committee includes 10 DCs and meets during the Network Wide Events (NWE). It discusses issues related to project management from their point of view and communicates this to the SB, through the DCC representative.

External Advisory Committee (EAC)

The EAC is an external committee of 5 very experienced researchers, independent of the participants. They will be invited by the NEPIT consoritum .The task of the EAC is to review reports and publications on an ad-hoc, and a yearly, basis, for overall quality assurance. They will focus on research and training, but are free to comment also on management, dissemination and outreach.The EAC members will be stimulated to give feedback upon their own judgement. The EAC also has a role in spotting and indication of scientific misconduct by any NEPIT participant.
